Take Stock in Children
Take Stock in Children provides college tuition scholarships and mentors to deserving at-risk students from financially-eligible families who are motivated to succeed. The students are selected in the 8th grade and must agree to the following:
- Get A's, B's, C's in all classes.
- Maintain an overall 2.5 GPA average.
- Stay away from drugs, alcohol, crime, and gang activities.
- Meet for 30-45 minutes each week at their school with their assigned adult mentor.
If students meet these goals, they are awarded a "2+2" scholarship - 2 years of tuition at a Florida public community college and 2 years at a public university in Florida!
MENTORS NEEDED! Call 941-255-0808, x3113 to find out about becoming a mentor and making a difference! For more information on this program visit the Take Stock in Children's website at www.takestockinchildren.com.
