Students receive awards for outstanding achievement in Cambridge exams

Congratulations to the Cambridge Award Winners for the June 2024 Series.
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Thirty-one students from Charlotte County Public Schools have received awards from Cambridge International Education, part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment and the University of Cambridge, for their performance on the June 2024 Cambridge examinations.
The awards recognize the success of students taking Cambridge examinations worldwide. More than 1 million students study Cambridge programs annually in over 160 countries.

“Charlotte County Public Schools is celebrating the remarkable achievements of 31 students who received prestigious Cambridge awards,” said Superintendent Mark Vianello. “These awards represent the combined success of our students and the dedicated support of our teachers. We are thrilled to see their hard work recognized on a global stage, proving the strength of education in Charlotte County.”

In Charlotte County, the following students received awards:
Charlotte High School:
Scholars: Burkey Jordyn, Dotson David, Hardy Aidan, Tollison Olivia, Towne Seth.
Merit: Brianna Terhune.

Lemon Bay High School:
Scholars: Angelina Semprevivo, Avery Shirley, Gabriella Howell, Kaylee Pernak, Logan Mcginty, Sydney Bowers, Tyler Swelland, Valery Kajatt.
Merit: Nathalie Herde.
Distinction: Morgan Phillips.

Port Charlotte High School:
Scholars: Dayani Telles Osorio, Isabella Brucci, Johnathan Barrera Cortes, Kira Tuthill, Nina Simone Castelo, Noah Raketic, Olivia Oliver, Tammy Ha, Tyra Andres.
Merit: Hailey Cohen, Jaela Mota, Leeanna Janvier, Sophie Davis, Summer Dejesus, Triyonna Howard.


Mark Cavone, Cambridge’s regional director for North America, said, “It is a great pleasure to honor the outstanding efforts of students and teachers in Charlotte County. I commend the students for their remarkable achievements in Cambridge courses and examinations. The qualifications they have gained are recognized globally and will open doors for exciting opportunities. I wish the students continued success in the coming year on behalf of everyone at Cambridge.”

School Board member Wendy Atkinson said, “These 31 students have demonstrated exceptional dedication and intellectual rigor in achieving their Cambridge awards. Their accomplishments highlight their individual abilities and hard work, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate their success.”
