Mandated Health Screenings

  • Students in Kindergarten, first, third and sixth grades

  •  Students in Kindergarten, first and sixth grades

  •  Students in first, third and sixth grades

  •  All sixth grade students

School Health Services

  • Purpose: Ensure Florida students are healthy and ready to learn, minimizing health barriers.

  • Authority: § 381.0056, F.S., and Chapter 64-F, F.A.C.

  • Scope: Pre-K through 12th-grade public school students in all 67 counties.

  • Services: Health appraisals, screenings, nursing assessments, referrals; identify problems early, prevent chronic conditions.

  • Delivery: Local school health services plans, developed jointly by county health departments, school districts, and partners.
